Pakistan to Collaborate with UK to Combat Cyber Crime
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced on Saturday that Pakistan will embrace the UK’s support to address the growing challenge of cyber crime. During meetings in London with James Babbage, Director General of the National Crime Agency, and Jonathan Allen, Director General of National Security at the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office, Naqvi discussed collaborative efforts to combat cyber crime and counter-narcotics.
In these discussions, the Interior Minister was briefed on the operations of British institutions, and both parties agreed on close cooperation. A key outcome was the decision to train Pakistani officers under the National Crime Agency’s guidance on cyber crime and counter-narcotics strategies.
Enhancing Cyber Crime Defense in Pakistan
Naqvi stressed the importance of greater collaboration between Pakistan and the UK in the fight against drugs, underscoring that a unified strategy is essential to tackle this menace effectively.
Highlighting the significant sacrifices made by the Pakistani nation and its forces in the war against terrorism, Naqvi called for a shared approach to dealing with these threats. He emphasized the need for a comprehensive strategy to combat cyber crime in Pakistan.
Learning from the UK’s Expertise in tackling Cyber Crime
During his visit to the Cabinet Office National Situation Center in London, the Interior Minister expressed keen interest in its operations. He acknowledged the critical role such a center plays in crisis situations and indicated that Pakistan might establish a similar center.
Naqvi emphasized the potential benefits of leveraging the UK’s experience and expertise. He stated that this partnership would enhance both current and future security measures, ensuring a safer environment for Pakistan.
